I once heard (rumor – take this with a grain of salt) that the Federal Building (dedicated by Nixon)’s foundation was poured backward, which is why the loading dock side of things is on Washington and the Post Office entrance on Jefferson. I’ve always thought the building should be switched around, and I have a generally low view of the federal government’s competence, so this rumor makes sense to me. Any validation of this?
